The subtitle of my book is BE Unmasked, again, as I’ve stressed before this has nothing to do with the current position of our country and the dispute on whether or not to wear a mask. This has everything to do with my heart, and my challenge for your heart.
When we live in a state of being Unmasked, we live Unafraid. “For God will give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:17 (TPT) Jesus is King of the nations. He holds everything in his hands, and when we are able to choose to stand for him Unafraid, vulnerable, and willing, we are living with hearts that are unmasked. Fear controls us; it has the ability to squeeze so tight that living to our full potential becomes very limited. Fear steals joy.
When our hearts stop hiding behind fear, we become open to the words of God that Nourish us and grow us. We learn to “forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 (TPT) When we allow Jesus to Nourish us, we in turn can Nourish others.
“Look at how much encouragement you’ve found in your relationship with the Anointed One! You are filled to overflowing with his comforting love. You have experienced a deepening friendship with the Holy Spirit and have felt his tender affection and mercy.” Philippians 2:1 (TPT) Yes! It’s time to say “Amen, thank you Jesus!” When our hearts are unmasked before our loving Father, we grow in relationship with him. Everything begins to fill to a place of overflow with his love, and our hearts expand in a Merciful capacity to love others. I’ll take it!
When our hearts are living in this place it is living in a place of Abundance. “A thief has only one thing in mind-he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in Abundance, more than you expect-life in its fullness until you overflow!” John 10:10 (TPT) The enemy of your soul is a thief. He will go to any length to steal your joy, desires, love, hope, and peace. He will make you promises that sound appealing, then he will crush you with lies and pain. He will mask your heart until you suffocate. It is only through a relationship with Jesus that you will experience real Abundance.
Vulnerability, a heart unmasked, can feel very risky. Not everyone will accept it or want to see it. Sometimes you may feel rejected. But I assure you, God will not reject you. “He guards the paths of justice; and he preserves the way of his Saints (believers). Proverbs 2:8 (AMP) He sees you, hears you, knows you and calls you his Saint.
When we stand before God, unmasked, the Holy Spirit works deeply within our hearts. “But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others] joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], Kindness, goodness, faithfulness…. ” The Holy Spirit is evident to others through our Kindness. Kindness brings healing to our hearts and to those around us.
With all this we will dance in celebration of the renewal God continually brings to our hearts. We are all a Dancer before the Lord when we are unmasked, open, and free. “Let them praise His name with dancing; let them sing praises to Him with the tambourine and lyre.” Psalms 149:3 (AMP)
Pray to God that your heart will be Unmasked before him more each day, as you walk forward in life with him.
BE Unmasked.
