Merry Christmas

Christmas is here….

It’s Christmas Eve. The tree is decorated, the gifts are wrapped, and there’s a roast in the oven. Ah….I love it! Christmas Eve is quiet for us with our two youngest kids and our two dogs. The rest of the family will join us on Christmas day, and I’m excited. My husband and I have had a lot of Christmases together, all of them have been good, even the one where I got sick. Our tree is full of memories with little ornaments made from all our children, and pictures through out the years. Lights glisten inside and out.

I have some fond memories of Christmas as a child. My grandmother LOVED Christmas and every year she was awake and ready to go by 4am. We did the same thing with our first three children, and it was fun. My grandmother had a silver tree, and I use to love how it shimmered. She would wrap presents in her bedroom and then bring them out to put under the tree. Then, she would get so excited about the presents that she couldn’t wait to give them to me….so, I would open them and she would then go buy more! We did this all through December, and of course I loved it!

She made a big breakfast on Christmas morning, and a big dinner. My grandmother loved to cook. Her veggies were smooshy, but I still liked them. She always had an abundance of desserts, yummy things like cream puffs, apple pie, and chocolate cake. All of this was so long ago, and now I’m a grandma. I love giving gifts to my grandchildren and being a grandma.

Okay, I know I’m kinda rambling, so I’ll get to the point. Merry Christmas dear friends. You are loved, and you have a Savior that was born on this earth so we could have eternal life. He was born so we could be victorious, loved, and people that speak Christmas joy all year long. Merry Christmas, and may the New Year that we are about to enter into be a year of knowing you can overcome anything because Jesus lives in you.
