The Sword

When we come to the place of talking to God freely and boldly, we are enthroned in love.

For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword.

Hebrews 4:12

Through out the years of my life I’ve learned the incredible value of speaking out the truth. The truth of how God sees me, the truth of his love, the truth of how he sees others, the truth of my situation. This practice is life-changing. When we use the Word of God to implement these truths by speaking the living Word over our lives, the lives of others, and our situations, we begin to see the actual energy of change. Good change. Why? Because when we do this we are opening our mouths and speaking, in return God is filling our mouth with his Word and his truth.

For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two- mouthed sword. It will penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts. There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenseless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account.” Hebrews 4: 12-13

When we speak to God with no restraint, freely and boldly, we are living according to his will. We are allowing Him to take all that we have and go deep into our soul and spirit with the truth of who he is. When we apply his Word to our every word and thought, he clothes us in his love and deals gently with us.

I use to be very structured in my prayer life until I learned that it’s okay to trust Jesus with my words and in turn he would take the messiness of my life and gift me with his mercy kiss and cover me with his grace.

So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.” Hebrews 4: 16

Freely and boldly! When we come to the place of talking to God freely and boldly, we are enthroned in love. We speak our heart thoughts and in turn God fills us with his heart thoughts. His Word then penetrates the very core of our being! Do you see the power in this? Does this excite you? I say yes to both. Sometimes in our earthly relationships we are not able to speak freely or boldly with those around us without some kind of punishment, but with God the more we speak freely and boldly the more we experience his love. When we breathe in his Word, he breathes out his Word upon us. The energy created through this act is impossible to beat!

God is calling us into partnership. A two-mouthed sword; you and God working together! The Mighty God of heaven calls us to be free and bold with him, and in return he fills us with his mercy and grace. Seriously, what more could we want? To add to this, our lives become deeply rooted, empowered, authentic, and wildly loved when we practice being opening our mouths and allow God to fill us.

We Get REAL!
